Afrojack began playing piano at the age of five and at eleven, he started experimenting with the remix program Fruity Loops.
He won a 2011 Grammy for Remix of Madonna’s “Revolver” in collaboration with David Guetta. Also in 2011, he was ranked #7 in the ‘DJ Magazines Top 100′ list.
His single “Take Over Control” was #2 on the Billboard Year End 2011 Top Dance Airplay Songs, spent six non-consecutive weeks as #1 Billboard Dance Airplay and was #41 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Also in 2011, he was ranked #7 in the ‘DJ Magazines Top 100′ list.
In 2012, he was nominated for two Grammy awards for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical of the song “Collide” by Leona Lewis and Best Rap Song “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown.
At the 27th Annual International Dance Music Awards, he received multiple nominations including Best European DJ, Best Producer, Best Remixer, Best Commercial/Pop Dance Track and Best Electro/Tech House Track.
He released Lost & Found December 22, 2010. In 2011, he was featured on Pitbull’s number 1 hit single “Give Me Everything” along with Ne-Yo and Nayer.
Afrojack runs an imprint label named Wall Recordings, which has Dutchhouse DJs such as himself, R3hab, and Sidney Samson and Mayaadh signed onto the label.
In 2012, Afrojack has headlined at many of the world’s largest electronic dance music festivals including Tomorrowland (Belgium), Ultra Music Festival (Miami, Florida), Coachella (Los Angeles), Electric Daisy Carnival (New York City, Las Vegas) as well as 40 other major cities in the United States.
Afrojack and Paris Hilton dated for 6 months.
He is also an avid car enthusiast, as seen from his official Facebook page. He has owned several high end sports cars such as the Ferrari 458 Italia [Crashed] and Lamborghini Aventador.
Afrojack Owns More Than 300 Pairs of Shoes. The sixth highest-paid DJ in the world even keeps pairs that don’t fit.
He’s obsessed with watching South Park, The Simpsons, and Family Guy. His life goal is to appear on The Simpsons.
If he wasn’t going to be a DJ, he wanted to be an Astronaut.
His last meal on earth would be nachos at the Wynn and Encore in Las Vegas.
