This place is ‘fancy pants’ unlike the several hole in the wall bars Bandra has in the area. A door check, iPad menus and plush interiors can only speak well. Located on the roof-top at the edge of Linking Road, the outdoor area doesn’t have much of a view but does have an extension of one of India’s longest bars rolling on to it and is remarkably large. The menu is well priced and an impressive line-up of cocktails gives you a chance to keep trying something new.
Getting down to business, the music is a little above average. Sundown sessions have a good mix of ambient and funky house giving the lounge a unique feel of a deck on the beach. Those of you who enjoy commercial house and mixes of popular tracks will have a good night. The sad part is that on the odd nights that we have landed up there over the past couple of years, the DJ’s tracklist has stayed pretty much the same.
The Bummer: Stay away during the monsoon as the outdoor area loses its charm when covered by a plastic on bamboo stilts and one gets drenched before entering the building as there is no car shelter. The lack of incentive to experiment with music is what keeps us away.
Power Tip: Grab one of the tables outside by the bar on entering as they dont need to be reserved. The sundowner with the mojito fishbowls is an experience that sticks.
